Coronation Street Catch Up: the blocked toilet edition

your update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Rest easy fellow punters, Pat Phelan's OK.

For a moment there it looked like old Pat was going to be encased in concrete but Eileen and Tim came to his rescue before his legacy could be er... cemented. Tim doesn't want any thanks but does want Eileen to know the truth so he switches on the cab radio so Eileen can hear Pat admit to his rip-off Calcutta Flats scheme.

All over for Pat you would think, right? Wrong, He convinces Eileen that he's really, really sorry and suffered through countless sleepless nights (could be all the killing and body disposal) and plus he's trying to find Billy and make Summer happy. Ahhh, what a prince.

In other news, Tyrone gets drunk and sleeps with Gemma. This after Fiz and Ty have a falling out over Hope's aggressive behaviour. Rita spots Gemma leaving Ty's house and gives Gemma and Ty a scolding.

In Plattsville, it seems Martin Platt could be back on the scene. Apparently he's planning to leave the country and David isn't happy. Not only that but the doctor tells David not to participate in the upcoming charity boxing match for Luke. Seems boxing is not compatible with David's epilepsy.

A clairvoyant visits Audrey's Salon (I knew that would happen). Apparently the salon came highly recommended... by a dead person.

Jude seems reluctant to go for job interviews and more content to look after the baby which puzzles Mary. Peter Barlow catches Billy skulking around and stealing money for his drug habit.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Steve to Eileen at the get-to-know Pat party:
"There's no easy way to say this: your toilet's blocked"
(Let Pat fix it after they trowel him out of the concrete)

Moira explains her employment history to the party guests:
"I got fired for stealing blood"
(could happen to anyone)

Liz to Eileen re: Phelan:
"All men are liars"
(but not all liars are men)
***
Well, cobble cohorts, so ends another week and Phelan is still worming his way out of mounting evidence that he's a liar and much worse. Good for Tim though in getting Phelan to confess and saving the wretch's life even if he does hate him. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by. Cheers!
