Coronation Street Catch Up: the kebab slag edition

your update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

I'm no geneticist, but it looks like Ty and Fiz have two sets of genes to worry about, one might even say a veritable double helix of double jeopardy (get on with it!- ed).

There are the Stape nutbar genes (potentially affecting Hope) and the Kirstie nutbar genes (potentially affecting Ruby). And it looks like the youngster who has been up to mischief is not Ruby (as first assumed) but rather Hope.

Of course, the key part of this story is the fact that Ty has a one-night legover with Gemma. Shame all around and a possible reconciliation, while Gemma gets fired from her Senior Kebab VP position by Chesney and is then rehired by overlord Dev.

The most disturbing (and I might add unnecessary) news of the week is David's date rape by that weird and unsettling mechanic, Josh.  Does David really need more trauma in his life? And do we need to be subjected to it?

On a less disturbing note, Eva is pregnant and eating anything she can find in the Rovers. Toyah wants to arrange for surreptitious pre-natal classes and Leanne wants to know what's going on.

Audrey has become interested in talking to the dead (a natural development given the age of her clientele) and wants Gail to have a seance with her clairvoyant.

Summer and Amy turn into Scott and Bailey Jr. as they track down Billy the drug addict. Long story short: Billy is found, roughed up by Pat and hauled off to a vicar rehab centre.

Now we know where Adam has been for the past week or so: getting a haircut. He's back and helping Billy avoid arrest.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Leanne thinks she's getting the cold shoulder from Eva & Toyah:
"What's French for doghouse?"
(la maison du chien)

Gail to Audrey:
"You've got a date with a Ouija Board"
(no men available?)

Fiz to Cathy:
"...while he's in bed with the local kebab slag"
(kind of a sex take-away)

Billy to Phelan:
"I am an utterly worthless human being"
(you're preaching to the choir)

Audrey to Gail:
"I've got Netflix. I'm never on me own"
(unless you lose your Internet connection)

***
Well, denizens of Dev's shops, so ends another week. Less Platt and more Phelan  comeuppance please. Have a great week and thanks so much for stopping by. Cheers!
